Lifestyle AV48

Cannot get my firestick to produce audio thru HDMI. It does fine when plugged into my tv, but I want surround from this Bose system. It does great with everything else.

Hello Spark4160,

Thank you for your post and welcome to the Bose Community.

I'd be more than happy to assist you with this.

Could you please detail a little further how you have your setup connected? The AV48 does not have any HDMI ports?

Warm regards,

Re: Lifestyle AV48

I think he is trying to use the ARC/ERAC and the fire stick is not passing the signal to the Bose LS 48.

Is that correct Sir?

I'm not sure what the black strip with AUX, VCR, TO TV is called. But yes. From that to my TV is HDMI. I plugged in my firestick to that thinking it would send video and audio, but it only sends video

Re: Lifestyle AV48

Hello Spark4160,

Thanks for getting back to us.

As you do not have an HDMI port directly on your system, you will not be able to plug the FireStick directly into the system.

A great workaround would be to plug the stick directly into the TV and then run an optical cable from the TV into the Bose system.

I hope this helps, let me know if you have any questions.

Kind Regards,

Vicky W

Hey Spark4160,

Thanks for reaching back out.

I would recommend ensuring that your optical cable is connected to optical out if you have this as an option. After this, all you will need to do now is to program your Firestick as an option on your remote. To do this:

  1. Press the System button on your remote.
  2. Scroll through the menu until you get to the icon of the media center.
  3. Scroll down until you have got to the 'Optical Source' selection.
  4. Select 'TV'.

You should then get the audio from your Amazon Firestick.

I look forward to hearing how you get on.

Kind Regards,

Vicky W
