No PCM Output for 5.1

I have a new LG smartTV with an optical out connected to my old trusty Bose 321 III.  The Bose display's "PCM 2.0". Optical is set to TV on the BOSE.  Should I be showing 2.1? Is that even an option? And with PCM 2.0, is my Subwoofer functioning at full power?  Thank you.

Re: No PCM Output for 5.1

Hi RFA2020!,

Thanks for reaching out, I am sorry that you're experiencing some problems in your set up. I would love to do what I can to help.

This message appears when the system is receiving a digital stereo signal. The TV may be outputting 2.0 audio. If you go into the LG's audio settings on the TV and test the different audio output types available. Also double check the same for connected devices, like cable/satellite boxes etc that you may also have connected.
