Soundbar 500 - Rattling at low frequencies (bass)

 

Bose product name: Soundbar 500

 

Country: Czech Republic

 

Firmware Version: 10.0.10-8565+88f8514

(1.0.7, 4.8.1, 1.7.0, etc.)

App Version: 4.2.4

(4.1.1, 13.0.2, etc.)

What devices were you using that were affected and what version are they on: iOS 14.2

(Samsung Galaxy S9 on Android 11, iPhone X on iOS14, etc.)

Detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce

Play any music / movie / sound from iPhone or TV with low frequencies (bass); rattling appears at low volume, increased volume makes sound quality annoying 

 

What environment do you experience the issue in? Quiet living room (tried to move soundbar to different location - same problem)

(noisy office, quiet kitchen, etc.)

 

When did you start to experience the issue? Did it work correctly previously?

It absolutely worked correctly, start 2 months ago

 

Any troubleshooting steps you took

- soundbar powered off/ on
- soundbar moved to the different location
- lowered bass in app to -100
- recalibrated using adaptiq
- unplugged surround speakers
- powered off /on surround speakers
- performed research on your website

-  used different sound source (TV, Phone, Bluetooth)
- gentle shake to ensure there is no moving part in soundbar

- checked visually if there is nothing stuck in bass hole

- if I lay 2-3 fingers over bass hole rattling disappears; increased volume makes this worse again

I have the same problem, only thing I was able to find were posts from 2019 that mention similar problems.
