Hi mctowbars,

Thank you for posting in the Bose Community.

While this is not a typical use-case for the system but the following information should help.

Set the side AUX input/output by following these steps:

  1. On the remote control, press the System button
  2. Press the down arrow to navigate to "5 SIDE AUX"
  3. Press the left or right arrow to select "Audio In" or "Headphones"
  4. Press EXIT to exit the menu

The default assignment is "Audio In".

To access the side Aux input, press the SoundTouch button.

If set to Headphones input and a cable is connected, the speakers are muted. Disconnect your headphones when not in use

Further to this, to echo what others have advised, you may need a pre-amp to increase the input signal level. The microphone may not be accessing enough power and this is not something you can amend on the Bose system. We cannot provide recommendations on a specific pre-amp.

Kind regards,

Sounds like your wireless mic requires a preamp before connecting to the ST220. Similar to turntables.

When you say audio in, do you mean the r/l (composite) jacks?

Re: Soundtouch 220 audio in

If I have this right the 3.5mm jack on the side is for audio eq( Adapt IQ). That port is configure able for multiple duties.

However I think you want to use the composite jacks (red and white) in the back. You still may need a pre amp.
