TV Connected to Cinamate Series I will not shut off

I have  a Series I Cinamate and purchased a new UHD TV.

When it is connected to the ARC HDMI It works with the Bose Universal remote.

However it will only shut off for a few seconds.

I found posts on line which the Sound Touch had this and it was fixed with a Update.

However I have never recieved any updates on this unit. When I have asked before it was up to date.

Is there any way to fix this?

Hi Toodyt,

I'm sorry to hear you are still hearing this issue.

I'd like you to perform a full HDMI reset by resetting the devices and the cables connected between them.

  1. Turn off the Bose system, the source device, and the TV.
  2. Unplug the Bose system, the source device, and the TV.
  3. Disconnect two HDMI cables at both ends and reseat them ensuring secure connections.
  4. Reconnect the source device, the TV and the Bose system to power.
  5. Turn on the TV and the source device.
  6. Once the TV and source device has finished powering up, turn on the Bose system.

Give this a go and if your problem persists, get back to us and we will be more than happy to help you further.

Warm Regards,

Charlotte G

Re: TV Connected to Cinamate Series I will not shut off

Hello Toodyt,

Thank you very much for your comment, welcome to the community!

I'm very sorry to hear you're having issues with your Cinemate Series I But I would like to help.

I would suggest firstly performing a system reset. This can be done through the instruction provided below;

  1. Turn the product off
  2. Unplug the power cord from the power outlet
  3. Disconnect the Interface Module from the Acoustimass Module. Wait 30 seconds
  4. Reconnect the Interface Module
  5. Reconnect the power cord
  6. Retest the system

Please let us know if this provides any improvements for you!

Kind regards,

Re: TV Connected to Cinamate Series I will not shut off

Thank you for the response.
My apologies because I realized I the model was wrong.
It is actually a Lifestyle 135.
I have tried disconnected HDMI.
Power down Tv.
Power down Bose.
Waited a minute.
Connect power on TV.
Connect HDMI.
Power up Bose.
Still bad.
Still not

Re: TV Connected to Cinamate Series I will not shut off

Hi Toodyt,

That's perfectly fine!

Do you have SoundTouch enabled on your Lifestyle 135 system? If so I would recommend attempting a manual update to ensure your system is completely up to date. Instruction on how to do this can be found HERE IN THIS LINK.

If your system does not include SoundTouch you can also update your system through THESE INSTRUCTIONS.

Kind regards,

The Update was done and the power up procedure was done a couple of times and different order as well.

Still turns off about 3 seconds after it turns off!

Re: TV Connected to Cinamate Series I will not shut off

Thank you very much.
Yes this procedure worked.
I will guess that the key must be disconnecting the HDMI at both ends.

It is working as designed now!
