connecting soundbar 700 to sky q

hi i have connected my lovely new soundbar 700 to my samsung tv using the arc hdmi port, the smart tv features play fine through the soundbar

 

my sky q is plugged into hdmi 3 but i have no sound at all.

 

if i go to the sky q settings and turn off dolby digital and set it to normal its fine. i presume though i can no longer then enjoy sky movies in dobly format?

 

Anyone had this problem?

Hi Paulie
If the Sky Q audio is fine when set to normal, this means your TV, is not passing through the Dolby codec, to your sound bar, I'd advise reading your TV manual, firstly, to see if Dolby can be passed through, if so, which audio settings to enable on your TV..

Hi Paulie, 

 

Thanks for posting and updating us on this. This is a very strange issue that I personally haven't come across before. 

 

Have you attempted to perform a product reset on the Soundbar to see if the issue persists? 

 

This can be done via: 

 

  • Turn the soundbar off
  • Unplug the soundbar power cord from the power outlet
  • Wait 30 seconds
  • Reconnect the power cord
  • Wait 30 seconds for the system to reboot
