Thank you for your post and welcome to the Bose Community. 

 

I'm sorry to hear that you are having a problem connecting your SoundSport Free Wireless Headphones with your laptop.

 

Could you please confirm the make and model of your laptop?

 

I would first recommend that you clear the Bluetooth pairing list on your SS Free Headphones. Press and hold the Bluetooth button for approximately 10 seconds until you hear the voice prompt "Bluetooth device list cleared". The forget/remove your headphones from your laptops Bluetooth device list. Re-establish the connection. 

 

Another suggestion is to reset your headphones. You can do this by following these steps:

  1. Place the earbuds into the charging case
  2. Plug the charging case into a wall outlet using a USB charger and wait 5 seconds
  3. Unplug the USB cord from the charging case and wait 1 minute
  4. Remove the earbuds from the case and try again

 

Let me know if there is any improvement. I will be happy to assist further if needed.

Thanks for your response.

I've done all the things you have mentioned before.

 

However, When I connect my earbuds to a laptop it says "Headset (Stereo Connect)". once I start my music it converts "Headset (Hands-free)" automatically.

 

meanwhile when my earbuds in stereo connect. my Bluetooth setting says "Connected for Voice and Music". Once it converts on (Hands-free) it says "Connected for Voice".

Hi ptlnik13,

 

Thank you for getting back to me and confirming this. 

 

I would suggest updating your headphones to the latest firmware. 

 

You can do this by visiting btu.bose.com and following the on-screen instructions. 

 

Once you have done this, repeat the clearing pairing list process I mentioned on the first thread and connect your SoundSport Free Headphones again.

 

Please get back to me and let me know if this resolves your issue.

I've updated the 2.6.0 version of my earbuds.

 

still, I am facing the same situation.

 

the following screenshot is for your reference

 

Image 1. connected for Voice and Music.

Image 2. Bluetooth list for my laptop which says Voice and music

Image 3. Taskbar says Storm (Stereo).

Image 4. Converted for Voice automatically.

Image 5. Taskbar says Storm (Handsfree).

I've done the following steps

 

1 remove the paired connection from a laptop.

2 wait until the light illuminates from White to Blue

3 Paired earbuds and connect to the laptop.

 

BOOM. It just takes 15 seconds.

I appreciate the posting but this is a problem that is well understood by Bose as a design/manufacturing flaw and should post a recall and demostrate honest and ethical standards with respect to the products the sell to their customers. If there is an effect solution I await it's arrival.

hI Jessi, 

I am this issue aince begining wheni bought new sound sport wireless ear buds. 

it is getting connected and showing in my lappy its connectd but only to voice, i dont understnad why. 

when i am trying to play music it is  not playing i mean i cant hear a music. 

its like my purpose of  buying whole thing has been ruined. I am an SAP consultant and mostly work from home with my lappy i thought oif hearing  to some good music but purpose isnt fulfilled. 

I checked my setting in laptop bluetooth, didi trouble shooting, Updated my drivers no use.

i am using LENOVO IDEA PAD 330S.
