Re: Bose soundsport charger case always charges until it dies?

Hello adambean,

I am sorry to hear about your experience, but am glad to assist. When you initially connect to the laptop you should get stereo sound. The issue seems to be with how Windows 10 treats the earbuds on subsequent connections - as a hands free device rather than a stereo headset. This appears to be an incompatibility. You can clear the pairing list on both the headphones and PC to refresh the connection but you are likely to have to repeat this every time you wish to connect. Some users have found better connection success bypassing the native Bluetooth and using a Bluetooth adapter. Hope this helps!

Best Regards,

Re: SoundSport Free Won't Stay Charged Inside Case

Support question to our Bose Community.

How long does the bose soundsport free charge case, once 100% charged, hold its charge if not used to charge the ear buds?

Even though both the charge case and the ear buds are 100% charged, it seems after 2 days, when the ear buds are not used, the charge case and ear buds lose their charge. Is this normal for Bose Soundsport Free Earbuds and Charging case?

My Apple AirPods and Charge case do not lose their charge at all if I do not use use them.

Can someone in our Bode community advise me please?

Thank you kindly.

Re: SoundSport Free Won't Stay Charged Inside Case

I have problem with sound sport free battery drain. Even when I don't use it the battery drains. I tried rebooting per instruction I found on different post. Even got a replacement as suggested by customer rep. updated the firmware to the latest.  Nothing is helping. battery life is supposed to be total 15 hours. but, I realistically get 4-5 hours tops and then I have to charge the whole thing. Is there a fix?

Bose Soundsport free not chargng

I've had for about a year now a pair of Bose Soundsport free headphones and recently they have stopped charging when I place them in the case. The case is charged all 5 lights light up indicating it is charged. However the next day when I go to use the headphones they are not fully charged. Each day the charge continues to drop despite the case showing it's charged. The headphones will charge if I plug the case in with the headphones int it but wont charge it I keep them in my bag. This is very annoying as I shouldn't have to charge them this often. Why is this happening all of a sudden?

Re: Bose soundsport charger case always charges until it dies?

I'm glad that's all the power you are losing and yeah it's to a tolerable extent, but mine go from fully charged case to totally flat case and buds within 4 days. S%*t house product indeed!!!!

Re: Bose Soundsport free not chargng

seyffertd,

I had the same issue.  I noticed a little bit of corrosion on the metal contacts caused by sweat.  I took s cotton swab with a little bit of 91% isopropyl alcohol on it and rubbed until clean and shiny.  After that, they started charging correctly.

Everyone else,

As for the battery drain while inside the case, that's an issue that unfortunately can't be fixed...  I verified this with Bose.  It's just the way they're made. Since I started this post, I've persuaded at least 10 people to not buy these.  They should have been made to completely power off while in the case instead of staying in a ready state and consuming power.  Mine go from fully charged to 0% in about 4-5 days.  A VERY big design issue in my opinion.  I will not ever buy another unless they fix this in future models.

I am also very disappointed with the product, the community support, and Bose. When the solution is to “just accept it” you know it’s crap.

Re: Bose soundsport charger case always charges until it dies?

Yeah, this is kind of ridiculous. I saw an above post mentioning that AirPods and other competitors have continuous drain which has not been the case for me. I bought the Bose SoundSport Free for my wife and she tosses in her purse, goes to use a couple days later and her case has a 0% charge. Come on, everything in my house is Bose but blatantly lying to me makes me want to get rid of it all.

Re: SoundSport Free Won't Stay Charged Inside Case

Hi,

I have the Aqua Soundsport wireless with Serial No ending with AE. I am facing issues with battery drain after fully charging them while they are lying idle unused. When they are charged completely using the provided cable and my laptop USB port, the battery drains to 30% levels in 6-7 days while they are idle without turning them off even once. At the same time while I start using them immediately, they give me a battery life of 5.5 hrs on 50% volume. so that's sorted. The issue is only while they are idle and unused. Want to know what's the charge holding pattern while they are idle. I am using the latest 3.0.4 firmware. Tried to reset as advised in other forums already.

Thanks,

Re: Bose soundsport charger case always charges until it dies?

The problem with having the find feature deactivated when the buds are in the case is that it halves your odds of finding them if lost.

I’ve lost the buds and the ability to find the buds in, or out of, the case saved me.

I’ll take the always on feature, over a little less battery drain, any day of the Week.

YMMV
