The Bose Community Forum was launched at a time when robust online support was not available for Bose customers. Over the past several years we have added new online service channels that provide a more interactive and complete digital experience. Additionally, we have enhanced the My Bose Account capabilities to deliver a more personalized and self-service experience. As a result, Bose has made the decision to close Community Forum for Consumer electronics products on September 30th. The Bose Pro portion of the Community will still operate as usual.

Please visit our support homepage to experience one of our many other digital service channels or simply use your Community log-in credentials to sign in to your My Bose Account to view your orders and view support options.

Thank you to all who have contributed and benefited from interacting in our Community. We look forward to continuing to serve you online.

Soundsport won't shut down, constantly draining their battery and my patience

My soundsport headphones are driving me insane and I am about to throw them in the garbage and buy another brand. About 2 weeks ago there must have been some sort of a software update. Im not sure what happened, but now they are constantly trying to connect to any device they're paired with. I power them off and they turn back on, if no device is available (I have had to constantly manually turn off bluetooth) they go into pairing mode. The battery drains every night as they are constantly on. I have tried forgetting all devices, resetting them, checking for updates, adjusting standby settings, and nothing works. They constantly interrupt phone calls occasionally just reconnecting mid call or dropping off. I don't know what is going on. I have had sound sports for 4 years and never had an issue until now.

Is anyone having similar issues? Any suggestions?

Re: Soundsport won't shut down, constantly draining their battery and my patience

Hey Mattco,

Thank you for taking the time to post and welcome to the Bose Community. I'm sorry to hear you're encountering a power issue with your headphones, but I'd be happy to advise.

Firstly, do you have the SoundSport Free headphones or the wireless? If you have the charging case, the headphones should stop attempting to connect to a device when they are placed inside of it. Is this not the behavior you're noticing? For the SoundSport wireless, the power timeout is usually 20 minutes if the product plays no audio or is interacted with. However, you can find the auto-off setting in the Bose Connect app - I'd recommend checking this isn't set incorrectly.

I appreciate you trying extensive troubleshooting such as resets and clearing the pairing, as this would've been recommended. Are you certain you've only started noticing this issue since you pushed the most recent firmware update to your headphones?
