Won’t find device previously connected to

These headphones worked, and now suddenly they can’t find the device my tv it was previously connected to.  It is not the device as my husbands headphones still work.  I have tried everything as suggested, past giving up, beyond frustrated, resisting all urges to swear and break something.  It is such simple tech, one button, how can it suddenly stop working????
