I have my Soundlink SLIII connected to my Echo Dot and have a Soundlink Revolve. Can I pair these two speakers and if so would they be able to be situated in adjacent rooms so that I can have Alexa "speak" through both

I think you would have to get another Alexa device attached to the second speaker.
Part of the reason is that BT is a short distance signal. So if you place the two speakers more than 10m apart (and walls will cut down this distance too) than you would loose signal anyway. Most speakers that do what you want will have Wifi built in to link other speakers.
Secondly BT is generally a one-to-one connection. The exception to this is where there is a second transmitter involved. For example you could have the dot connected to the Revolve and then the Revolve could transmit to a second Revolve to play the same through both Revolves (won't work with the SLIII because it's a lot older and you are still limited by distance).
