Soundlink not charging

Title says about it all.

Tried 3-4 different charging cables, and three different sources of power.

Sometimes, the light and sound will come on when I first put the plug in, but it won't last more than a few second.

This also means that it will not work on AC power either.

Re: Soundlink not charging

Hello!

I too am having the same issue where my SoundLink Resolve won't charge.

I have tried multiple USB cables and plugs with no luck.  It continues to say that the battery is at 20%.

I have reset it back to factory defaults, plugged it into power with no luck.

What else should I try here?

Thanks in advance!

Re: Soundlink not charging

Hi eabeam,

Thanks for the update!

Here are the steps to reset the SoundLink Color:

  • If the speaker is disconnected from power, connect it to the power supply
  • Turn the speaker on
  • Press and hold the AUX and Volume - buttons for 10-20 seconds, until a tone is heard
  • Turn the speaker on and verify your language selection. To select English, press Play/Pause and hold

If this doesn't help, I'd recommend connecting the speaker to a computer with a USB cable and navigate to btu.bose.com to see if there is an update available for the speaker.  We've seen some success with battery issues from early software on this system.

Let us know how it goes!

Warm Regards,

Re: Soundlink not charging

That got me some temporary relief. But the problem came back, and now I am out of power and cannot turn it on to attempt again.

Re: Soundlink not charging

Hi Eabeam,

Thanks for updating us on this issue, I have a few questions I would like to ask to get a better understanding of your issue:

  • What LED's are you getting on top of the speaker?
  • What software is the speaker running on?
  • Will the speaker turn on when plugged into the power supply?
  • Have you attempted another product reset?

Kind Regards,

Hector B

Re: Soundlink not charging

No LEDs anymore

I used to get a blinking yellow batter icon for about 3 seconds. Then, it would say low battery and turn off.

Almost feels like a loose physical connection in my untrained opinion.

I have never updated the software.

I only connected it to AC Power since I had it.

I just tried connecting it to the computer, but there is nothing. No LEDs, no sound, no acknowledgment of a connection from the computer.

I cannot do another reset with zero response.

Re: Soundlink not charging

Hello Eabean,

Thank you for your response. If you are getting a zero response it might be the battery is not sufficiently charged. We recommend you leave it on charge for the 4 hours requirements. Then test it if it will respond to you.

Let us know how you get one so we can provide you with the next step of troubleshooting,

We hope this was helpful.

Kind regards,
