Hi Bill Arno,
For " sometimes I need a little lower end. I am solo, play rhythm guitar, and sing all genres", unless you're heavily into low-end percussion, I think that you'll be happy with one B1 or possibly two.
It may seem odd that I would mention two B1s, but I would certainly prefer to manage a two B1s (on those rare occasions where a single B1 might not do). The B2 weighs in at about 45 pounds (compared to two B1s at closer to 52 for both). For loading in and out of a vehicle, I'm much happier with a couple of smaller 26 pound units than a single big one.
If you want to try a B2 then you can get the it from Bose and if (within 45 days) it doesn't suit you, you can send it back. See details at the end of this post.
The other approach is to get the B1 and if that doesn't seem like enough of a step up, send it back and get the B2.
Having said all that - from what you've said, I think you'll be just fine with a B1.
