Bose 802s in Array

Hi, as a brand new person here I hope I'm in the right place and this question has not been answered already. but here is my question
I have bough 18 secondhand 802s all series 2. 4x 502bps plus a sp 24 controller. I have read from other people that stacking the 802s will cause directional issues , filtering of frequencies etc, I am a professional sound engineer for 30 years but studio based, I'm just starting to get into some live sound, more as a hobby at the moment, but want to make sure I'm going about this the correct way. what is the best position to place these on a stage. any suggestions will be appreciated.

Re: Bose 802s in Array

Hi feetnframes,

Thank you for your question.

The 802 IIs can be stacked. In fact in the SP-24, there is a preset labeled 802II ST. The ST stands for stack.

Stacking the 802 IIs will create more of a line array effect and also gives you additional cabinet resonance (some extra bass response).
