Re: Bose Connect App: Feature Requests and Suggestions

Thank you so much for reaching out & asking us.

I would love to see the entire Mixer at the rear of the S1 replicated in the phone app so that at a gig even if the S1 is placed away from me (the performer), I can access every possible knob/filter from the app. It would also help me to go into the crowd with my tablet/phone (while my S1 is either on stage or FOH) and from any corner of the venue, adjust all settings pertaining to my S1, ie Vol, Eq, FX, etc. for each channel. This would make the S1 so complete from virtually every aspect. However, since the S1's Mixer is analog & not digital, I may be asking for too much. Kindly delete my comment if I've overstepped.

(These features I've requested are currently present in the JBL Eon Compact).

I miss this facility in my db ES1203's

If in a new S1 they permit stacking of FX per channel, I'd love to see COMPLETE access in the app.

And Yes ... one of the most imp: I'd love to be able to see how close I am to clipping levels on the S1. ie the app & an indicator of when I'm clipping IN RED (something like a colored signal meter in a recording software). This is so I can keep my clipping levels at 90% leaving a 10% headroom such that only extremely occasional high peaks will just about get the clipping led to barely light up.

(Pls delete anything that may not be relevant).

Re: Bose Connect App: Feature Requests and Suggestions

+1 to what Prakash suggests in the prior post.

Not sure if there are platform limitations that would adversely affects this suggestion, but when updating the firmware for the S1 from the Connect app, allow the update to be able to update more than one S1 after one download vs having to go through the entire download again.

In other words, be able to hold onto the downloaded update, which takes a long time, so you can update multiple S1s. Many of us have at least 2 S1s and old computers that won’t run the Bose Updater.

Re: Bose Connect App: Feature Requests and Suggestions

Is there any sort of diagnostics that the app could run against a S1 that might be experiencing issues? Not sure what that could be. Your support folks might be able to suggest something.

A sort of “health check”?

Re: Bose Connect App: Feature Requests and Suggestions

Not sure how much access the app has to the underlying EQ section in channels 1 and 2, but it would be cool to be able to override something like the reverb to be plate, large room, small room etc. perhaps even some sort of delay vs reverb. This might be getting into lunatic fringe territory though.

Re: Bose Connect App: Feature Requests and Suggestions

@ST it might be helpful to let us know how much access the app has to the underlying architecture of the S1. What are the boundaries that we should scope our comments around.

For example, if it isn’t possible to access the analog Vol/EQ/Reverb aspects of the main channels we can focus on other aspects. I’m sure Bose knows that many competitors have implemented remote control apps in their portable PAs.

Hi, CityFolk,

Thanks for the thought.

I'm not at liberty to say.

What are the boundaries that we should scope our comments around.

Let's keep an open mind to all ideas for the future. I learned long ago not to limit my thinking to what I imagined was possible - especially when talking to people at Bose.

For example, if it isn’t possible to access the analog Vol/EQ/Reverb aspects of the main channels we can focus on other aspects. I’m sure Bose knows that many competitors have implemented remote control apps in their portable PAs.

To offer some scope. The Bose Connect App manages Bluetooth streaming audio and a few static parameters (e.g., Bluetooth device name, Auto-Off power-saving mode) and firmware updates. If we assume that suggests what isn't possible in future updates to the Bose Connect app, we can still talk about things we would like to see in this or future products.

Re: Bose Connect App: Feature Requests and Suggestions

Hello and sorry for my English,

I did several tests with my bose S1 in Bluetooth with an EQ in Windows 10 vs Android.

Like many of you say, the Bose S1 does not like recent music at high volume with electronic Bass vs music from the 70s and 80s.

with Windows 10, you can have a full and adjustable EQ for frequencies.

As IOS and android does not allow cutting below 60hz .. it would be good if in the bose application he a possibility to add a -4 DB for the area under 55hz.

It makes a big difference.
even on android when you cut the 60hz, it remains that there is the famous electronic bass that the bose does not like.

thank you!
