Hi Mackenmich,

Welcome to the forum! Thanks for joining us.

There is only one version of the Bose S1 Pro system, no MK 2. Please could you confirm what is meant by 'Mk2 and Mk1 Chairs'?

Re: Bose S1 pro mk2 and Mk1 difference

Hi Dylan,

The enquiry was prompted by a local retailer claiming that they were stocking the new version - “Mk2”

Interesting to note as it seems to be their point of difference as it is selling for more than other local competitors

Re: Bose S1 pro mk2 and Mk1 difference

Hello Mackenmich,

When the S1 Pro was originally announced (January 2018), it shipped without a battery, but with a "slip cover" (basically a dust cover.)  The battery purchase was a separate option.  As of May 10, 2018 Bose decided to include the battery and not the slip cover.  Shipments with the battery pre-installed started on July 2, 2018.  The S1 Pro itself did not change, just the packaging "bundle".  See this thread from 2018.

The dealer may be trying to point out that other dealers may still have pre-May 2018 systems without batteries sitting in their warehouses.  I don't know if that's true or not, just conjecture.
