I would like to know what is the best way of using the mix from  S1 Pro to record a podcast using the Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen?

Hi Sparkle,

Thank you for your post, welcome to the forum!

To record the mix on the S1 Pro, connect from the 'LINE OUT' on the speaker to the input(s) on the Focusrite Scarlett interface:

Hope this helps!

Re: Connecting S1 Pro to Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen

Thank you for the assistance.

I ended up getting the rodecaster pro mixer and i am wondering how i can.

1.  Conect Left and Right to two Bose S1 pro speakers.

2. Conect Left and Right to one Bose S1 pro speaker.

Perhaps if you can also advise the cable types i can buy.

Re: Connecting S1 Pro to Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen

Hi Sparkle,

1. If using two S1 Pro systems, use two 1/4" TRS cables to connect from the stereo master outputs on the RODECaster (labelled L&R) to one of the inputs on each S1 Pro. This will give you a stereo speaker setup.

2. If only using one S1 Pro system, you can use one 1/4" TRS cable to connect from a headphone output on the RODECaster (labelled 1-4) to one of the S1 Pro inputs. As this setup only uses one speaker, both the left & right channels from the mixer's headphone output would be played together in mono through the S1.

Let me know how this goes!

Re: Connecting S1 Pro to Focusrite Scarlett Solo 3rd Gen

Hello GoldenD,

If you are recording the output of your S1 Pro to your computer via your Focusrite 2i2:  Use a 1/4" TRS to 1/4" TRS cable, and plug it into either channel 1 or 2 on the front of your Focusrite.  The Focusrite has XLR-1/4" combo jacks (just like on the S1 Pro) and will accept either XLR or 1/4" plugs.  The XLR connection's gain is optimized for a microphone and the 1/4" connection is optimized for a line-level signal (like the S1 Pro's "LINE OUT") or a Hi-z instrument if you press the "INST" button for that channel.  When using the S1 Pro, make sure the "INST" button for that channel is out, i.e., NOT illuminated.

Does that help?
