Electronic burn smell

Ran my L1 M2 dual bass for five hours outdoor. T1 8-9 on master, no channel vol past 6, and no channel gain above 6. No clipping lights anywhere; all green. 2 mikes, usb in from MacBookPro. Sounded phenomenal, even dual bass.
Now set up in my studio I smell a slight electronic smolder of sort.
Sounds fine, except for slight buzz on 4/5 USB in.
Ideas?

Re: Electronic burn smell

Hi Frank,

I checked out the weather in Rockwall Texas.

Was your system out in direct sunlight at over 80° for 5 hours?

Was it excessively hot to the touch?

I'd give it a few hours running to see if the smell dissipates and if it doesn't, then talk to L1® Support to see if there's any cause for concern. Phone number below.

Was the slight buzz on 4/5 USB in there before the 5 hours outdoors? Does that buzz go away if you run on batteries without the power supply for the computer?

Re: Electronic burn smell

Hi Francis,

Well if the L1® isn't raising a stink, I wouldn't give this a second thought. But if you are at all concerned, call L1® Support. It's a free call and they'd be happy to hear from you.

Re: Electronic burn smell

I've also noticed this smell the first several times I've used any of the L1s, even in cool A/C. It's normal and it goes away after a few uses.

Re: Electronic burn smell

Had a PS2 with an odor that didn't go away and it got too hot too.

BOSE made this right with me.
