The Bose Community Forum was launched at a time when robust online support was not available for Bose customers. Over the past several years we have added new online service channels that provide a more interactive and complete digital experience. Additionally, we have enhanced the My Bose Account capabilities to deliver a more personalized and self-service experience. As a result, Bose has made the decision to close Community Forum for Consumer electronics products on September 30th. The Bose Pro portion of the Community will still operate as usual.

Please visit our support homepage to experience one of our many other digital service channels or simply use your Community log-in credentials to sign in to your My Bose Account to view your orders and view support options.

Thank you to all who have contributed and benefited from interacting in our Community. We look forward to continuing to serve you online.

Re: F1 - Questions for Bose

Hi invisibleDJ,

Yes you can use your ToneMatch Audio Engine to drive a pair of F1 Model 812s in stereo or mono. Just use the config that you would use for the LI. Just make sure you use the ToneMatch external power supply.

Many of us DJs find the T1 more than adequate for our needs and it is a very fine "sound card" for output from our Macs (or PCs).

If so, please add instructions for this to the Wiki!

Re: F1 - Questions for Bose

Hi PMWizard,

The F1 system is designed for use with ensembles with drums and guitars. Differences between F1 and L1 are:

- More Power
- The array is flexible and not fixed
- You can daisy chain F1 units together.

To cover larger halls, ideally, you would have a left and right system stack.

As far as room coverage, what are you planning to do?

Re: F1 - Questions for Bose

Hi Stu

This is good question...

The bottom F1 Model 812 has a specially designed key that locks into the F1 stand. The fit is snug and secure. Please keep in mind that we need to pass safety tests before releasing a product like this. At the time o the video shoot, the stand was as secure as a standard tripod. We have even improved the design since then.

Another advantage to the stand, is that you can rest the speaker on it until you find the key. This way, you are not hunting for a pole cup as on a traditional powered loudspeaker. That said, the F1 Model 812 is pretty easy to load up.

You can see the bottom of the loudspeaker in our interactive app. Check out f1tool.com and play with the menus.

How well is the F1 speaker secured to the stand that's built in to the sub-woofer. The video showed the guy just resting it on the stand. Didn't look like there were any securing clasps or anything similar.

Thank you.

Stu

Edit:
Sorry, this was meant to go in the 'F-1 Questions for Bose' section. Not sure how it ended up here.

Re: F1 - Questions for Bose

Paul, we are a 4 piece band that plays inside/outside for crowds ranging from 50-400. The hall is concrete block with high ceiling and the outside is a very wide area(probably need speakers on each side).

Re: F1 - Questions for Bose

Hi Paul,

Please tell us when we'll be able to buy an F1, and the price. Will these be available to hear/demo through the same retail outlets as the L1®?

Re: F1 - Questions for Bose

Hi again Paul,

Will the F1 have the same return policy as L1 (45 days when purchased directly from Bose)?

Re: F1 - Questions for Bose

Hi PMWIZARD,

I can't accurately speak to coverage performance based on the specs you gave. To be honest, it's going to depend on the size of the space, how reverberant it is and how loud your band is. As you know, a drummer is going to excite the natural state of a space much differently than an acoustic guitar player. (or an acoustic player through an L1)

For reference, we just used the F1 System in a stereo config in NOLA. The band was a rock trio. The space was fairly reflective with roughly 100 patrons. Before the band started to play, the din in the room was roughly 97dB. I ran the band at 104dB (average). Coverage was quite good, vocals and instruments were clear and I had plenty of throttle left.

Re: F1 - Questions for Bose

Hi ST,

My expectation is that product availability will be at the end of August.

Pricing is:
F1 Model 812 = $1199 (USD)
F1 Subwoofer = $1199 (USD)

Thanks!
