F1 Subwoofer Bag from Bose

I feel pretty dumb here trying to get this cover on the best way.

Is there supposed to be a top or bottom?

Mine is missing the cutout for the handle on one end, which makes it super awkward to carry, so still can't figure out what the best way to put this thing on.

This is the authorized genuine Bose cover.

Re: F1 Subwoofer Bag from Bose

Hi Jaswrx,

With the F1 Subwoofer in the normal upright position, I slide the cover down over the top. Then I flip it over and do up the zipper.

I do the same with the F1 Model 812. With the F1 Model 812 on the floor (with the handle on top), I slide the cover down over the top. Then I flip it over and do up the zipper.

And yes, it would have been nice to have access to the third handle on the F1 Subwoofer. But the unit is too wide for me to pick up by both ends. I usually use the handle on the back.

Re: F1 Subwoofer Bag from Bose

I will try putting the sub in like you said, but there is still no handle on the bottom of the cover, and if you try picking it up on the side and top, it's EXTREMELY AWKARD!

Wonder what Bose was thinking on this one. Pretty bad design.

I might try cutting into it so there is hold for the handle, b.c even getting the sub to put on a dolly, puts your hands in a very weird position.

btw, I don't own 812.

Not at all, is it awkward. You would never use both ends to pick up the sub. Use the back and top handle. Works perfectly.

Re: F1 Subwoofer Bag from Bose

the weight is not distributed evenly unless using the top and bottom handle when moving around, JUST LIKE YOU DO WHEN IT IS OUT OF THE BAF

I know I am not crazy. All my assistants commented too.

The back and top handle are too close to each other to not make it awkward, unless you are just grabbing with one hand, which is a little on the heavy side.

Try walking 10 feet with how you suggest (top and side handle). It's very odd and uncomfortable. You are essentially lifting from the upper part of the sub, just in two spots.

I guess BOSE's thought process meant it literally meant to be lifted onto a cart, not carried around.

Re: F1 Subwoofer Bag from Bose

I carry mine with one hand, either from the top or from the back.

Just carried it down and up 35 steps last weekend. Just not that big of a deal.

You must not have been around in the 80's and 90's when speakers EASILY weighed in at 100+ pounds.

Ouch, but good for you.

Back in the 90's I had more help. These days we have to be more self-sufficient. Our Bose gear gives us so much more sound per pound than was possible back then.

Re: F1 Subwoofer Bag from Bose

it's just odd that they would out a handle on the sub, but on the cover.

Bose messed this one up. Not going to sugar coat it.

I am going to try and cut it open my self so the handle is accessible.

Re: F1 Subwoofer Bag from Bose

I agree, all the handles should be accessible. This gives you the option of putting 2 people on the job as opposed to one. I know they aren't that heavy and nowhere near as cumbersome as some subs but it really is easier with 2 people.

Re: F1 Subwoofer Bag from Bose

Hello Forum Members,

We appreciate your feedback on the F1 Subwoofer bag. The F1 Subwoofer bag provides optimal storage for cables through side compartments. There is no access window in the bottom surface, and this is to prevent water or dirt ingress when the bag is placed on wet surfaces such as wet grass.
