Will Bose be offering a trade in deal for us L1M2 owners so we can upgrade for a bit less $$ ?
Hey Tommy,
I can confirm that Bose will not be offering any trade-in or upgrade options for older L1 systems.
The good news is in the few instances when I’ve sold older Bose gear, the resale value was much better than any other gear I’ve sold. The Bose reputation really pays off here.
I wish it was like that around here. The second I saw the Pro16, I put the MII up for sale. The offers I recieved are disrespectful to say the least haha.
I popped into L&M last week and saw the pro 8 was on display. I dang near chucked the speaker array across the room pulling it out of the spacer piece. They are sooooo light! I see where the weight savings comes from as the new speaker arrays appear to be made of plastic vs the L1 array which I think is metal. This fact combined with the need to upgrade to a T4 convinced me to keep the L1 and instead grab a second S1P for our smaller sessions.
That's one thing that makes me apprehensive. I have another brand array system made of plastic. I damaged the connector parts without even knowing when or how. Not damaged badly and still works, but the plastic is a big downturn from the metal radiators we currently have on our Bose L1 system
I do believe the resale value issue might be due to recent events. Once things get back to normal, the resale value for great equipment like the MII will come back.
that’s my opinion at least
I recently purchased a Bose L1 Pro8, and have thoroughly enjoyed using it for the past few days. However, the Bose L1 Mix App no longer works on my phone (iPhone SE - the original one from a few years ago) since the update to version 1.0.1, which happened yesterday (11/23). I called Bose customer support, but was given no recourse other than to "call Apple." The older version of the app (1.0) worked great, but the updated version forces me to a "Terms of Use/Privacy Policy" screen that I can not get beyond (the "agree" button appears to be missing), and so I can no longer use the app to control my L1 Pro8. I'm posting here because I cannot find any other way to resolve the problem. I tried deleting and reinstalling the app, resetting my phone, etc. It's clear to me that the new version of the app just isn't compatible with my phone. I'm hoping it's a bug that can be fixed. Here is the screen that I am stuck on:
Hello Isaac,
Sorry to hear. I'm sure that's frustrating. Have you reported this in the app review area on Apple? Be sure to let them know the versions just like you did here. I'm confident it will get fixed soon.
Hi Isaac,
Welcome to the forum! Sorry to hear you're having this problem - I too have been able to replicate this issue using an Apple device running a previous iOS version.
I have raised a ticket to our development team for a swift resolution. Please could you confirm which iOS version your iPhone is running?
I have the same issue stuck on the terms and conditions page. I have an iPhone 7 running iOS 14.2 tried it on my wife's iPhone 6 and the app didn't work on it either. This is NOT and apple problem, this is a BOSE app programer/QA problem. I had another Bose app installed for my S1 Pros, that didn't work either. Bose might want to consider relooking at who they have doing their Q&A on these apps. Not sure but I don't think us Bose users like being part of the Q&A department.
