Hi Chuckm,
Let's see if we can isolate the problem.
Here's a diagnostic test.
Swap the B1 units - from left to right.
Does the problem follow the B1 or does it remain with the L1.
Please let us know what you hear.
Thanks,
ST
Just performed the test. Same results. It appears it could be the L1 stand.
Hi Chuckm,
Let's try another test.
Please swap the outputs from the T8S leading to the L1 Model II analog inputs.
What do you hear?
Thanks,
ST
I'm not very smart on this stuff but I did think to do that earlier. Still end up with a weak sound on that side. Wish I could give a more positive answer.
Hi Chuckm,
Chuckm posted:And one more thing. Per Bose instructions and fine tutoring we have things set up and running with the new T8S. One thing we have noticed however is that one of the B1's isn't producing as much bottom as the other side. We have:
Checked the volume balance on the L1 stands and they are equal
Checked the cable that connects the B1 to the LI stand by installing a new cable
So far we have not been able to resolved the issue. Any ideas?
Let's review:
The symptom is weak bass on one side.

A lot of stuff to do. I'll get back to you.
Hi Chuckm,
Only points 3 and 4 above require action.

Per your instructions and a lot of time all of the suggestions were tried. Very noisy without the subs as suggested in item 3. Switching the stands required taking off the towers and reinstalling everything. In the end, we still experience an unbalance. As for the stand in question, this is a replacement for one that went dead last year. Wish I had better news. Thanks for your input.
Hi Chuckm,
Did the problem follow the L1® Model II power stand when you moved it to the other side? If so, then please call Bose Support and be sure to tell them the history of the unit.
If the problem is remains (weak bass on one side - the same side) even after you swap the power stands, then the problem is room acoustics.

ST. The problem appears to be with the settings on the new T8S. I took my old T1 and reconnected it to the system and had zero problems with the sound. So it appears that the reverb/delay/reverb time/compression have affected the balance on each L1 Stand. This according to Bose Tech support. I am hopeful that the T4S will not have the same issues, as Bose is working with Sweetwater (where I purchased the 😎 will make a switch. I am told that the settings on the 4 are similar if not same as the T1. Not sure if I have to update the Firmware on the 4. Thanks for you help.
