Live Streaming With BOSE T4S

Just bought a T4S which I am using with my L1 Compact system. Our church is live streaming and I want to know which outputs I use use on the T4S or L1 compact (there is one output on the L1 compact) to get the best signal to the broadcast. The R mono out on the T4S is already in use as that is connected to channel 2 on the L1 Compact. So, should I use the L mono output or one of the aux outputs? Everything is being panned hard right as per the instructions in the set up guide. Also, I want to be certain that the reverb/effects as well as the house mix get to the broadcast. Recorder vocals sound pretty awful without reverb/effects. Thanks for your help.

Congratulations!

Please make sure your T4S is up to date. See

You've got lots of options.

  • Use the L1 Compact Line Out (on the back). This will give you the same signal as people hear through the L1 Compact.
    • The signal level for the broadcast will go up and down with the volume control on the L1 Compact.
  • Pan all your inputs up the middle and use the T4S Left output
    • The signal level for the broadcast will go up and down with the T4S Master volume
  • Set up T4S Aux 1
    • You can set this up as PRE-Fader with effects
    • The signal level is set with the Aux Send control and is not affected by the Channel or Master volume controls. This will allow you to make changes to the volume heard through the L1 Compact without affecting level for the broadcast
    • It also takes a little longer to set up
    • See

T4S Aux Outputs for more information.

Re: Live Streaming With BOSE T4S

Thank you SO much for the quick and detailed reply. This is exactly the information I was looking for! I will try out these options at our rehearsal on Tuesday and post back with the results. Thanks again!- Steve

Re: Live Streaming With BOSE T4S

One follow up question...Just to clarify... Is the TS4 Aux 1 setup the only scenario which will provide effects to the broadcast? Or, if I use the L1 output or the the TS4 left output, will they also preserve whatever TS4 effects we are using in the house?

Thanks.

Thanks.

All three options I set out in my post above will provide effects to the broadcast.

Note: In the Global Reverb settings - you can use a different type of reverb for Aux 1.  Although for a broadcast I wouldn't use much reverb because reverb lowers speech intelligibility.

Re: Live Streaming With BOSE T4S

Trying now to set up option 3 (above) using Aux Out 1 (PRE-FADE). In viewing the link you provided (T4S Aux Outputs) I see an example for setting up channel 1 to go to Aux Out 1. So, I am assuming I need to repeat this procedure for each channel if I have mics/instruments plugged into channels 2, 3, and 4. Correct? Now, what if I have a keyboard, for example, plugged into one of the aux inputs (#5 of #6)? How do I get that to Aux Out 1? i.e. I want to make sure that everything that is plugged into the T4S (I have 3 mics, 1 guitar, and 1 keyboard) gets to Aux Out 1 (so it can get to the live stream broadcast).

Thanks for your help.

Yes.

Unfortunately, the T4S Aux inputs can NOT be routed to the Aux outputs.

Bose engineered the T4S ToneMatch mixer to have four full-function channels and two Auxiliary inputs. The Aux inputs 5/6 are routed directly to the Main Output. You can use the Pan and Level adjustments accessible through the PAN/AUX menu. There are no changes to routing, or signal processing available. Only T4S ToneMatch mixer channels one through four can be routed to the Aux Outputs.

It looks like you'll have to take the broadcast feed from

  • The L1 Compact Line Out (on the back).
