My other 'gig'

I love picking the guitar and singing but I really love working with my choirs in my full time job at First Baptist Church, Thomasville, Ga.

I am a very blessed man.

Merry Christmas to all and a Happy New Year

Good to hear from you Rick.
That music was beautiful, it made me cry.
Was it supposed to do that?

Merry Christmas & a happy new year to you all.

Re: My other 'gig'

Thanks to all for the kind comments. Music is such a wonderful gift that most of us share here on the message board. I just thought that some of you who know my taste in "down home" style guitar pickin' might be interested in another side.

Pete, I found my self teary eyed more than a few times as we were learning the song. Music is such an emotional art that speaks more than words as it expresses feelings deep inside. While solo singing and playing can be very fulfilling, there is something special about a group of people from diverse backgrounds coming together to express praise to the One who gave all of the gifts, all of the good stuff to mankind. It's just very powerful.

Even if the music is "secular in nature", there is still something "spiritual" in the expression as we connect with other musicians and the audience and share a common experience.

Let's take it to the streets in 2011. More music!!!!!!!!!

(sorry for the sermon)
