Power Base Opening Breaks Off!

I'm not sure how to describe this, the flap on the power base that when you open it has all of the inputs, etc.

Well, it was stepped on by a guest and broke off. The side has a minor crack and will not go back on.

Any suggestions??? Do I need to buy another power base just for this..? Can BVose send me a *flap*?

Thanks!

Mine broke off shortly after I bought them. (they got stepped on too.)
I have not replaced them. I just live with it.

Are we talking Model 1 or Model 2 here?

Model 1 / Classic. The Model II does not have a "flap".

Re: Power Base Opening Breaks Off!

The innovative Richard Mills taped his "flap" to the L1 on the side opposite the hinge to create a visor that helps channel spills away from that critical area. The standard set up sort of channels spills into the critical area.

Like most of the rest of us, I removed my "flap" some time ago. That said, I am considering the Mills method.

Re: Power Base Opening Breaks Off!

When I first used my system I did have few people stepping on the flap. I decided to modify my facade to recess the base into it. This protects the base and hides the wires.

Re: Power Base Opening Breaks Off!

Cool idea Mike.
I believe Cap does something similar.

Do you always and only set up with this configuration?

Don't you want to play with some different type of set ups?

I used to be stuck to the L1 on my left and right sides, but have changed how I set things up. Not all rooms warrant a unique set up, but when I can, I do. Otherwise they are to my left and right.
