I'd encourage you to keep your firmware current. We tweak things and sometimes add features.
If you have *any* trouble with the update process, you can always call Bose Support and they will walk you through it.

Just got a T4S using with an L1Classic...
The above T4S firmware updates link gives me this:
After figuring out how to work it...download in progress 15 minutes....finishes then receive a message no Bose USB compatible device found. same v1.0.10 on TS4. Am I doing something wrong?
I'm sorry about the disconcerting message. It sounds like you're seeing the message I mention at 4:20 in the video.
Please turn off the ToneMatch mixer. Turn it back on. If you don't still have the USB cable connected, connect it again.
Then open the L1 Updater software on the computer.
It should show you have the latest firmware.
My bad....after calling, I found out v 1.0.10 is the latest version after 1.0.09....just came out.....I thought it was still reading 1.0.1.....

Just got my T8s today and have been trying to update firmware. My current version says V1.0.1 It's confusing because is this the correct V1.0.10 without the last 0?? I've followed all the steps shown here and online (many times) and my Tonematch just says "Update in Progress DO NOT DISCONNECT" But after 30 minutes nothing changes and I have to disconnect. Any input would be appreciated! Thanks. T
