T8S + 2 L1 Compact + 1 F1 SUB

Hi people,

I will have a DJ small gig next week, I will use T8S with 2 L1 Compact and 1 F1 SUB as FOH to have boomy sound.

I intend to plug the F1 SUB in AUX Output to control its volume independently. Cut the frequencies below 125 Hz on  the Master output EQ to have low mid... and high frequencies only on the L1 Compact.

- TAP POINT of the AUX Output set to DRY or PRE or POST ???

- What about latency between AUX Output and Master Output?

- Will the F1 SUB support it?

Has anyone ever tried this setup? Need your point of view and  advice.

Thanks

V.R.

Hey VR,

This would also work! The benefit of using this setup is you can utilize the built-in HPFs on the F1 sub line outputs.

One thing to be wary of though - connecting from the F1 sub to the two L1 Compacts will not maintain the stereo image from the T8S mixer's output, as both L1 systems will play both left & right channels summed to mono. This won't be a problem if you usually have the channels on the mixer panned centrally anyway.

Hope this helps!

Re: T8S + 2 L1 Compact + 1 F1 SUB

Hey V.R!

Thank you for your post. The simplest stereo setup here would be to:

  1. Connect the master L&R stereo outputs from your T8S to the inputs on each L1 Compact system.
  2. Connect the line outputs from the L1 Compact systems to the inputs on the F1 subwoofer.

This way, you would not need to utilize the AUX outputs on the T8S mixer at all.

Is there a specific reason you wanted to send to the F1 sub directly from the T8S?

Re: T8S + 2 L1 Compact + 1 F1 SUB

Hi Dylan,

Thank you for the tips,

Actually, I though about it before but the reason why I wanted to send the F1 SUB on AUX Output is to control it separatly from the Master Volume by using the AUX Output Volume and get controlled  boomy sound.

I wanted to be sure, my idea won't damage the F1 SUB.

... another idea.

What about this configuration but instead of 2 F1 812, we use 2 L1 Compact?? What will be the F1 SUB LINE Outputs EQ setting, THRU or HPF ??
