Anyone recommend a preset for a Takamine acoustic with steel strings and built in connector please?

Hi ScubaBadger,

Have you tried the ToneMatch Presets for Takamine. You can get them here.

Please watch the video on that page before installing ToneMatch Presets.

Re: ToneMatch Presets for Takamine

Have installed - but sadly there isn't one for the Takemine GN75, steel string.

We'll have to play a short sound check prior to gig and choose which of the existing Takemine presets sounds best.

Thanks though - first time I've used the ToneMatch udater as opposed to the L1 updater - very quick...

Re: ToneMatch Presets for Takamine

I just got my first Takamine last week! A P4DC with the CTP-3 preamp. I installed the Takamine ToneMatch presets and the two presets for the Cool Tube aren't bad but I ended up going back to the trusty old Flat Acoustic Guitar zEQ preset. I played my first show with the Takamine this past Saturday and loved it!

The only thing I'm bummed about is how long it took me to try a Takamine. Should have done this years ago!

@ScubaBadger FWIW, I play a Takamine with a CT4B II Preamp System. On my T1, I use either the Takamine Natural CT4B or the Supernat. CT 100%. Depends on what sound I like each time I use it. Sometimes I even use the Taylor T5 preset. I played around with various presets before settling on these three.

Did you get the wine red version of the GN75? It looks beautiful!

Hope you find what works best for you.

Cheers,

I've never been able to update my Bose connected to my Mac. I use the Martin D-28 preset for my Taks and it sounds with a tiny bit of tweaking.

@Tom Pernal I've done it on my Mac a few times ... works like a charm. Just check that you have the correct version of the updater. I think @ST has posted the correct version somewhere on this forum.
