Unit buzzing

I have just purchased my second L1 11 second hand, it is in immaculate condition and has only been fired up twice in the last 3 years. When I plug it in there is a hum which gets louder with the volume and a unpleasant response to the bass notes which is not what I experience with my first Bose. I have changed the leads cables etc. but to no avail, anyone experienced this problem?

Do you hear the hum?

• When nothing is connected to the L1 Model II Power Stand Analog input
• In different locations (different AC power sources)

Other questions

• What is the sound source you are connecting to the L1?
• How are you connecting the sound source to the L1?
  • If the sound source is a non-Bose mixer, please give us a link to the owner's manual for that device.
  • What kind of cable are you using for the connection
    • Tip-Ring-Sleeve  or Tip-Sleeve 

Most of the time, a hum indicates a Ground Loop. Please follow the link for more information.
