Can anyone tell me what use is the AUX port?  If it is a mono input then either the left or right channel will be lost, it must mix the two channels to produce a mono output from the speaker.  Unfortunately the next to useless literature Bose provides doesn't explain this.

Yes, it mixes the stereo input to make mono mono ( just as it does with the BT signal anyway)

Yes, that makes sense.  I have discovered the only way to get stereo using Airplay is by using each speaker switched to AUX, then a splitter cable connected from the Airport, take the red connection to the right channel and the white connection to the left channel speaker.  Tested and works.
