Bose Soundlink Mini 2 special edition won't connect to Mac properly

I have a Bose Soundlink Mini 2 special edition I've only had it for a few months but when I try connecting to my mac the sound keeps cutting off, and It's fine if it's put right next to the mac but if it's placed anywhere more than 1 feet it won't connect. I tried resetting the bluetooth, pressing the power button for 10 sec and also pressing the multifunction button for 10 sec to reboot. But it still doesn't fix it. There's no problem when connecting to my android phone. It connects to the speaker even if it's 3 meters away. The music is from an offline source so it's not the wifi. It's updated to the latest one aswell.
