I recently bought a Samsung S9+ and I could not get the bluetooth to connect to the Soundlink II device.
I attempted to update the firmware but a message said it was not the correct device for the firmware downloaded.
I cancelled the firmware update and cleared the device by holding down the BT botton for 10 seconds.
The device will still not connect tot he Samsung S9+.
How do it resolve this?

Do you have the SoundLink II mobile speaker or the SoundLink Mini II speaker? We just wanted to be sure.
What is the status of the speaker while it's trying to pair with your phone?
Have you tried connecting another mobile device with your speaker just for troubleshooting purposes?
