Soundlink III cannot factory reset

I'm trying to reset my Soundlink III, but despite holding the mute button it would not reset.


The lights flash as the manual describes, but the speaker itself wouldn't turn off (manual says hold mute button for 10-20 seconds until lights flash and speaker turn off).


When I release the mute button, it would just turn off. When I turn it back on, it's still not reset.


Anyone has any ideas? Thank you...

Thanks for reaching out. 


Your speaker will not turn off after performing a reset. To perform a SoundLink speaker reset, follow these steps:

  • On the speaker, press and hold MUTE for 10 seconds; the leds will flash briefly
  • Press POWER to turn the SoundLink speaker back on

I believe that your product is in fact performing the reset process.
