CSD 5.8.2.32571 crashes on start

Hi,

Sometimes, when starting ControlSpace Designer for the first time after booting my computer, it crashes before getting past the splash screen.
(Se attached image)CSD Crash Error Msg
Additionally, this crash doesn't end the "CSDesigner.exe" process - it must be forcibly ended using taskmanager.
Until then, the above splash screen remains (albeit without the error popup window).

Attempting to start CSD again results in the same error, indefinitely.

Restarting my computer sometimes resolves the issue.

** Work-around
Disabling the Ethernet network adapter of the computer -USUALLY- allows CSD to start.
(Control Panel -> Network and Internet -> Network and Sharing Center -> Change adapter settings -> rightclick wired ethernet -> disable)

After starting CSD, the ethernet adapter can now be enabled again.
(Sometimes the CSD crashes as soon as the adapter is fully activated)

If CSD is closed for any reason, the crashes resume and the network adapter must be disabled once again.

Re: CSD 5.8.2.32571 crashes on start

Quick update;
I am able to reproduce the issue with more consistency when the "Dante Control and Monitoring" (ConMon) service is NOT running.

I have set the ConMon service to start manually instead of automatically on boot.
Usually I only start it when I need to use Dante Controller.
Could be why the issue have appeared at "random" for me.

Further testing is required though, as this probably doesn't explain why CSD works fine with the ethernet adapter disabled.
(or perhaps CSD checks network adapter, followed by ConMon, but if CSD find no adapter it never looks for ConMon? Layman wildly speculating)

Hello Joel,

Great investigation!
I can imagine that CSD relies on Dante ConMon.
Let me also investigate this further.
