CSR 1.0 text corruption on iOS9 devices

Moved from "Cyrillic?"

Original post from Paxson:

My CSR App seems to be using Cyrillic or similar font for the Site Name and non active parameter sets. See attached images. I've tried loading a few different files with the same results. Also tried pushing the same file multiple times to the device, same results.

iPhone 6
iOS v9.0

Any thoughts?

Re: CSR 1.0 text corruption on iOS9 devices

Hi Paxson,

I could reproduce it and is related to IOS 9.0.

Maybe a work around for now:
You can downgrade the iPhone using the link below (I tested it with an iPhone 5C).
After downgrade CSR works as expected again.

iPhone downgrade

Don't forget to make a backup of you iPhone before downgrading!!!

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi, Arno.
I received four cases this week about this issue.
Do we have plans of fixing this soon?

Some people has not been able to do the downgrade process.

Thanks,

Re: CSR 1.0 text corruption on iOS9 devices

We are working hard on the new CSR which will support iOS 9.
Expected release date will be mid November.

So please advise our customer not to update to iOS 9 for now.

Re: CSR 1.0 text corruption on iOS9 devices

As of the newest release this morning, 9.0.2, there is not a way to roll back to iOS 8.

Re: CSR 1.0 text corruption on iOS9 devices

HI Levi,

Apple has closed the signing window for iOS 8.4.1 and iOS 9.0. This means that users can no longer downgrade from a more recent version of the operating system to either of those older builds.

We heard that for some projects CSR is the only way to control the sound system.
A temporally solution could be to use the monitoring mode of CSR.

Monitor mode is invoked by appending a command line parameter to the Target field of the application shortcut. To configure the application for monitor mode, create a shortcut for the ControlSpace Designer application or copy the existing shortcut for modification. Select the Properties item from the application shortcut’s right-click menu. At the end of the application target location, add the parameter “[space]–m” outside the quotes as shown in the following example.

We also are developing a Windows client of CSR. You can download using the link below.
It is still in beta phase and is not completely tested.

Best regards,

Arno

Re: CSR 1.0 text corruption on iOS9 devices

The fix for this issue is now live in the Apple iTunes store:

ControlSpace Remote v1.0.5

Thank you for your patience while we resolved this issue.

Hi,

<form action="/" enctype="application/x-www-form-urlencoded" id="gt-form" method="post" name="text_form">
Could it be that the problem reappears? One of our ProPartner has the problem, that the iOS App is starting sometimes with a cyrillic (or similar) font. After closing and starting the app again everything is ok.

Best regards
Roger

Re: CSR 1.0 text corruption on iOS9 devices

Hi Roger,

Since the update we haven't received any reports on Cyrillic fonts.
Can you check which version of CSRclient, CSRbuilder and iSO they are using?

Can they send the CSR design file and perhaps some screen shots?

Best regards,

Arno
