Device failed to receive NetList / Bose.creator.general.NetlistSendException

Hello everybody,

A customer has a project with an ESP1240 and an ESP4120. As he wanted to upload the csd file, he got error message "Device failed to receive NetList" (see attached picture).

After deleting some duckers etc. it was possible to upload the design without error message. But only if he upload a blank design before.

Does anyone know this problem?

Best Regards

Roger

Re: Device failed to receive NetList / Bose.creator.general.NetlistSendException

Hi Roger.

Tony Cimino here. I work at Bose Pro as an SQA Engineer and am filling in for Arno as he's out this week.

I'm looking for a little background information here:

CSD Version?

FW Version of the 2 ESPs?

A copy of the .csp file(s)?

If you could get this information to me, I can have someone take a look at this issue.

Thanks,

TC

Thanks for your reply.

The customer works with CSD 4.4.2 and the newest firmware.

He have try it with two computers. But the Problem is with both.

The files are attached.

Very good, thanks.

We'll work with these files and see if we can reproduce the issue.

Talk to you soon,

Re: Device failed to receive NetList / Bose.creator.general.NetlistSendException

Great, thank you.

I've tested the configuration with standard ip settings and without dante cards. And i can reproduce the issue.

If the error message pop up and click "ignore", then i am online, but only with the ESP-4120. The ESP 1240 is "gray".

Best regards

Re: Device failed to receive NetList / Bose.creator.general.NetlistSendException

Using the files you supplied, we were able to re-produce this issue in-house. If there is a fix or workaround, we'll let you know. We've pushed this to the developers and expect that they will help us characterize the issue.

Thanks,

TC

Hi Tony,

Have you already received  a feedback from the developers. My customer has already asked three times because his customer makes pressure.

Best regards

Roger

Re: Device failed to receive NetList / Bose.creator.general.NetlistSendException

Hi Roger,
Sorry for the delay.
We are working hard to get to the cause of this issue.
I see a lot of blocks that might not be needed, like:

  • input 1-8 a compressor/limiter for fixed level sources.
  • stereo PEQ - Comp/limiter. Why not make it directly mono.
  • 9 band PEQ for inputs?
  • 9 band PEQ for outputs, perhaps do PEQ in amplifier
  • Large matix's. can it be only one or maybe none?
  • what is the purpose of the duckers?

reason for asking is, that if we remove certain blocks we can upload the design file. So it is important for us to know which blocks are needed or can we find a work around.

Re: Device failed to receive NetList / Bose.creator.general.NetlistSendException

Hi Arno,

Thanks for your reply.

Here the reply from the ProPartner:

input 1-8 a compressor/limiter for fixed level sources. -> it's removed in the actual design

stereo PEQ - Comp/limiter. Why not make it directly mono. -> it's of course possible to do that

9 band PEQ for inputs? -> no, not necessary

9 band PEQ for outputs, perhaps do PEQ in amplifier -> yes, it's necessary - not possbile to do it in the amplifier

Large matix's. can it be only one or maybe none? -> better overview and it's easier to make changes

what is the purpose of the duckers? -> the csd file was no finish. he Need a ducker for all 9 zones for microphone ducking.

Best regards

Roger

Re: Device failed to receive NetList / Bose.creator.general.NetlistSendException

Hi

I've just seen the thread from Brian -> Link

Could someone from the developers test if the file from our customer can upload with CSD 4.41? If yes, he could downgrade the firmware from both ESPs and use temporarly CSD 4.41.

Best regards

Roger
