EDID Info on VB-1

What devices were you using that were affected and what version are they on (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S9 on Android 11, iPhone X on iOS14, etc.)

Detailed description of the issue and steps to reproduce

During one of the meeting with the consultant for a large opportunity for Bose VB-1, I was asked, "how does VB-1 manages EDID, as in single cable mode, VB-1 is talking to display directly" Can someone please help me with the relevant information on this..

 

What environment do you experience the issue in? (e.g. noisy office, quiet kitchen, etc.)

 

When did you start to experience the issue? Did it work correctly previously?

 

Any troubleshooting steps you took

Hi Navin,

 

EDID is between the PC/Mac and the monitor. Our VB1 is just using DisplayLink similar to the way a dock would use it. It's just passing this information between the source (PC) and display.

Bose work management application, over VLAN

Hi, One of the partner has two different VLANs setup in their office. One for all AV devices (VB-1 is part of that) and another one is for general purpose use. IT manager wants to check the status of VB_1 from his machine, using Bose WMS. Are there any special settings need to be done to reach out to VB-1, sitting on a separate VLAN?

Hi Navin,

 

It should just be like any other IP device. The network VLAN would have to be configured (port forwarding or bridging) to be able to see and communicate between networks. An IT manager should know the proper way to set this up securely. Otherwise, you can connect the VB1 to the larger network to connect to Work Management.
