RM 3/4way setting recommendation

Hello folks,

Many of you have asked for recommended crossover settings for RoomMatch 3way/4way systems, and we finally have developed a document for that. I believe this helps the settings at demos as well as installations in the field.

This material was developed through intense measurements and listening tests with Pro Engineering Acoustic Engineering team as well as Pro Marketing team.

Special Thanks to peer review members from Field Engineering community:

-David Prince
-Jorgen Allen
-Phil Nelson
-Thomas Steinbrecher
-Tom Tyson

Thanks, and ENJOY!!

Soichiro Hayashi, Bose APAC pro

Re: RM 3/4way setting recommendation

Great work guys, I have been using these settings in the field as a starting point and in most cases they have worked fine and I have not changed anything.

best,

Tom

Re: RM 3/4way setting recommendation

Hello All,

By now most of you should have received an announcement by Alan for the change of RMS215/218 limiter and hipass settings. As you can imagine, if you change the hipass of RMS215 and RMS218, the delay setting in the document is no longer valid, because the phase response of the filter changes.

We have not evaluated this effect yet. Since the change is for hipass only, it may seem that at least 3way system configuration will not be affected. However I am not confident at this moment, based on the fact that a hipass filter affects the phase response at much higher frequency than you would expect.

For now what I can say is:

If you use the new hipass for the sub based on the upcoming new ControlSpace EQ file, do not use the recommended delay setting in this document. Instead, you have to find the best setting on your own (at least for now).

I am hoping to revise the document with a new recommendation. If you try and find anything with the new hipass, please let me know. Any comments regarding this document (e.g. format, "need this info", "did not work in this case") are also welcome.

Thanks and regards,

Soichiro Hayashi
