Serial Control Matrix Index 2

When our protocol document says “Size of Matrix” it is actually the total number of outputs in the matrix? When I do that math using that value for the examples shown it works out correctly. screenshot

Looking at example two. If “Size of Matrix” is # of Inputs x # of Outputs a 4x4 would be 16. If the formula is (Input# - 1) x Size of Matrix + Output# then In2 to Out4 would be the following:

((2-1) * 16) + 4 = 20 but the example shows it at 8

If “Size of Matrix” is the total number of Outputs then the equation is:

((2-1) * 4) + 4 = 8

Can anyone verify this for me?

Thanks.

Eric

Re: Serial Control Matrix Index 2

Hi Eric,

You are correct. If you picture the matrix you count the cross-points left to right, then down a row and left to right, and so on..
