Serial Input of ESP880

Hi all,

We recently noticed that the serial input of ESP880 cannot be controlled.

We defined some strings and added some parameter sets to each of these strings. But we can't control them. The version of firmware is V4.3.1.

Has anyone encountered this problem?

Thank you!

Re: Serial Input of ESP880

Hi Sunny,

Do you mean normal serial control (serial protocol document) or serial input window in CSD to enter your own serial string?

Can you upload a design where you encountered this issue?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Serial Input of ESP880

Hi Arno,

I mean the serial input window in CSD and my own serial string.

Attached is a simple test design file for your reference. we created two parameter sets and added these to two strings in serial Input.

Thank you!

Re: Serial Input of ESP880

Hi Sunny,

It appears that the serial input window is not working in CSD 4.2, 4.3, 4.3.1.
The serial protocol will still work.

I will log it.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Re: Serial Input of ESP880

Just to confirm the issue is limited to the physical RS232 serial port, serial input is working correctly with Serial-over-Ethernet connections.

Best regards

Hi Arno Rob,
I want to know when we can fix the problem, because there are dealers in response to this problem, their projects need this function

Re: Serial Input of ESP880

Hi Carl,

This issue has been fixed in ControlSpace Designer v4.4 which should be available in the next few weeks.. If you need an immediate solution you could use an Ethernet serial server..

Apologies for inconvenience..

Best regards
Rob
