Ability to add your own sound files?

I love my Sleepbuds, and find them very comfortable and effective, but I (like others) find the current selection of exisiting sounds limted, and there is really only one that I find soothing.

My main critisizm with most of the other sounds is that they repeat, and noticably so, too often. It is like hearing the same verse of a song over and over again.

I understand that the music files are stored locally on the buds and there is a limit to the size of the files and their selection. However, it would be great if the user were given the option to replace all of the existing files with one of their own. This should free up enough space to allow for a personal file that doesn't repeat nearly as much as the existing files do.

I have to think this would be a relatively easy firmware/software update as it does not require streaming.

Thanks.

Hi shappy

Thanks for joining the community!

We are currently hard at work adding new sounds to the application for the new Sleep Buds!  Regarding the personal sound files, I can certainly add this as a feature request for you.

Re: Ability to add your own sound files?

There is an app called RAIN which has wonderful rain, thunderstorm and other sounds. I believe Bose should research this app snd add some other rain sounds to the earbuds

Re: Ability to add your own sound files?

Hi Tony,

Any word on when this update will be coming through? The Sleepbuds are obviously great quality hardware, but the sound software leaves a lot to be desired, as pointed out by other users. Partnering with another company that already has a great sound variety sounds like a great way to appease customers and mutually increase sales, is there any particular reason you aren’t pursuing this method? It seems that without support Bose is struggling as it’s been a few months with no change 😕

Hi Ginnyree

Thanks for writing in!

At this point we still haven't heard any updates about this from our development team.

Warm Regards,

Re: Ability to add your own sound files?

Darn... That is very frustrating. Part of why I thought this expensive purchase was worth it is because of the promise for continued improvement. Is the improvement of this product being abandoned by Bose? I feel I will need to strongly advocate against the purchase of this product if that is the case.

Would it be possible to notify the development team that the lack of innovation in the sound files available is limiting the potential of an otherwise well-made product? If Bose is simply unaware that this is a problem I would love to communicate the issues consumers are experiencing!
