Bose sleepbuds not updating

I just purchased the sleepbuds a couple of days ago and when I opened the app, it said I had an update for the sleepbuds themselves.  I hit update and it churned for a while, and then said "No dice" and the update failed.  I have tried forgetting the sleepbuds in the app, unpairing them on my phone, resetting the charging case, and the checking to see whether the charging case is up to date (it is), and uninstalling and reinstalling the Bose Sleep app.  I have done pretty much everything that online forums suggested and am out of options.  Do I have a faulty unit or does anybody else have a suggestion?  I have a galaxy note 9 with android 9 on it and no software updates available.

I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing issues with the update. I would recommend trying a different device and downloading the application to try the update.

I had this with my buds and Huawei phone, downloded app to a  old samsung  worked straight away.
