The only real way to find out is to experiment as we'll all hear sounds slightly differently and the noises you describe will vary too.
I started by going through the available sounds, finding a few I liked and then tried them a night at a time to narrow down the selection. I then find that I swap between sounds over time. My favoured ones are anything with water, be it the rain ones or the stream one.
I use mine to mask my tinnitus at night, but they also work to block some other noise too.
Don't be worried about trying them, just give them a go and I'm sure you'll find they work well for you. They aren't perfect but a lot, lot better than other options.
