Re: Sleepbuds Discontinuing Discussion

I received my third replacement pair in early August 2019. And to my surprise they are still working, this is the longest working pair I have since purchasing my first pair in April, they seem to die after two months. So my dilemma is do I keep them or return them before December 31? Bose says they will honor a two year warranty so does that mean I can keep this current pair until August 2021 and return if there are any problems?  Is there anyone out there that has actually had any luck with their replacement pair. I really want to keep them but afraid that January 1 they will stop working... and I will have a hard time getting a refund.

Re: Sleepbuds Discontinuing Discussion

I'm wondering that myself, @jswing . I think I might take my chances with the warranty 😬

Re: Sleepbuds Discontinuing Discussion

I was looking at a product called QuietOn. They look small and similar but only offer a 1 year warranty in the US two year in other countries. Plus I have never heard of the company. Just not sure.

Re: Sleepbuds Discontinuing Discussion

I saw someone post on here about those, they said they don't have an alarm 😞

Re: Sleepbuds Discontinuing Discussion

I am going to attempt to call Bose and see if I can get something in writing. I really want this pair to work as I have grown dependent on them now!! But hate to have them die in a month and then stuck.

Re: Sleepbuds Discontinuing Discussion

jswing, regarding Quieton.. might be better than nothing but I was reading reviews on it and many people didn't like it... didn't work as expected.  It also has active noise cancellation, but that also causes a sound (ringing I think) when it's pressed against the pillow (for side sleepers).

Regarding the warranty, if I were in your situation, I would get a replacement to the newly manufactured version.  It sounds like it's only been 3+ months for you; lately mine start to show symptoms at the 4 month mark so you're still in the danger zone lol.

I already received the newly manufactured version... but my 4 month mark will be in Feb 2020.  I'm definitely keeping it and not applying for a refund.  From my understanding, yes, they will honor the warranty.  They will also give you a refund (even after Dec 2019) if they run out of replacement stock (which I interpret as meaning "if they decide to stop manufacturing it or if they just want to wash their hands of the entire product altogether and no longer deal with it").

Re: Sleepbuds Discontinuing Discussion

This is an exact copy and paste for a question under the FAQ section of Bose's statement about discontinuing the SleepBuds specific to your question:

"What if I experience an issue after December 31, 2019?

You’ll be covered under the product’s two-year warranty, which includes a replacement, if available, or a refund. Please be advised that replacements will be drawn from a limited supply of sleepbuds™ with newly manufactured batteries that are less susceptible — but not immune — to the battery-related issues. We expect — but can’t guarantee — that we’ll have enough inventory to offer replacements into early 2020. If a replacement is not available, you will receive a refund. The process and timeline for your refund will vary by region; please allow at least 4-6 weeks for processing once your returned product is received."

... I am on my third pair that I received in early August. So far, so good. But too soon to tell. My first two sets had a battery begin to malfunction each after about 55 usage cycles (nights of sleep). I got my first pair in December 2018 and one of earbud's batteries started malfunctioning in April. I was using the first pair about two nights a week. My second pair that I got in June had an earbud battery start malfunctioning in the same way in July only after two months, but that was because I was using them every night at that point (kids were out of school and loud in the mornings). My third pair's usage is more similar to my first pair's usage (about 2-3 nights per week). So, I won't exceed 55-60 cycles until early 2020.

Re: Bose Sleep App crashing in IOS 13

Thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, I have tried everything you proposed with no success. The application still crashes when I tap in whatever sound within the sound library (even the ones already installed). I have everything up to date, and as far as I know, the sleepbuds have been restarted (using the little hole). Both of my IOS devices have been rebooted as well. Do you have any restrictions per region? Although I am currently living in the US, my devices are from a different region (the sleepbuds where purchases here in the US). Apart from that, I don’t know what might be happening.

Re: Sleepbuds Discontinuing Discussion

Dear Bose Sleepbud Team,

Please do not give up on the concept 😭.  Besides the battery issue, they work as advertised.  My sleeping partner snores like a freight train and your sleep buds make it tolerable.

Re: Sleepbuds Discontinuing Discussion

alphalog thank you. I assumed I might have the latest manufactured set but I will contact Bose and see what they say. All mine have only worked for exactly two months so I was hoping I had the newer version with this set.
