The Bose Community Forum was launched at a time when robust online support was not available for Bose customers. Over the past several years we have added new online service channels that provide a more interactive and complete digital experience. Additionally, we have enhanced the My Bose Account capabilities to deliver a more personalized and self-service experience. As a result, Bose has made the decision to close Community Forum for Consumer electronics products on September 30th. The Bose Pro portion of the Community will still operate as usual.

Sorry, I’ve got a Bose Home Speaker 500. Alexa works with turning on radio and all other commands. I can turn off Spotify, etc but not the radio.

You should be able to turn off your radio with Alexa, I would love to explore this with you.

 

What exact commands are you asking your Home Speaker 500 when attempting to turn off the radio?

 

Have you tried "Alexa Stop"?

I’ve tried unplugging for a minute and no change. I use Alexa stop and Alexa turn off. This works perfectly fine for music and timers just not the radio.

That does seem to work but is different from all the other devices we use. Is this the only Bose in the world that does this?!!!!! Thanks for your help so far.

Sorry but I’ve persisted with this and it’s still not working properly. I’ve just had to unplug the speaker to get it to switch from radio to Spotify. The command to play music from Spotify just ended with a red light flashing. Have you any solutions? Under normal circumstances, despite having bought 7 Bose items over the years and being very happy with them, I would return the speaker to the shop and cut my losses, but obviously this is not possible at the present time due to the Coronavirus restrictions. Saying Pause instead of stop, as with every other device, is not satisfactory.
