Bose 500 Soundbar - Sound Issue (or is it me?)

I took delivery of the BOSE 500 Soundbar last week. Since then I have been noticing that whilst watching content with a 'fuller sound' (movies and dramas with lots of background sounds rather than the news, for example) some of the background sound fades or diminishes noticeably when there is voice. So for example, a character walking along a beach with the sound of waves....character speaks and very noticeably the sounds of the waves appear to dramatically reduce. So periods of speaking and not speaking have the effect that someone is turning up/down the volume dial for the background track. Its quite noticeable and a little bit off-putting. Is this a problem with the set-up or just me? Soundbar is connected to SAMSUNG QLED TV via HDMI cable (ARC) if that helps.

Hey @TeamJasper,

Welcome to the Bose Community!

Before determining if this is a problem with your soundbar, could you please let me know if you have dialogue mode enabled? To do this, go to the Bose Music app > select the speaker, then tap the image of the speaker in the lower-right corner > select Audio > tap Dialogue Mode. Is this toggled on of off?

I look forward to hearing back from you.

The dialogue mode is currently disabled but I have tried it on both options.

Thanks for confirming this @TeamJasper.

Would you be able to play some audio through another source, such as connect via Bluetooth and play a video with voice, and just compare if the same thing is happening?
