Important Alexa Functionality for Home Speaker 500
A couple of Alexa commands that are quite useful/convenient are missing from the new Home Speaker 500 it seems, and I was wondering if you could provide any insight on when they will be available. Specifically, I'm talking about playing music through Spotify, running Alexa routines, playing music alarms, etc. When a device is marketed as Alexa enabled, I would expect that the whole suite of Alexa commands be made available, not just a small limiting subset. Any updates on the timeline for availability would be much appreciated!
Re: Important Alexa Functionality for Home Speaker 500
Thank you for the post!
Voice control for Spotify, Alexa routines, and customizing alarms are all limited to native Alexa devices like the Amazon Echo. This is a limitation of the API that is used by Alexa enabled 3rd part speakers, which means these limitations exist amongst all non-Amazon Alexa speakers.
I can say though that voice control by Alexa for Spotify will be coming to our speakers in the near future, however we don't have a date for this.
