Notice

The Bose Community Forum was launched at a time when robust online support was not available for Bose customers. Over the past several years we have added new online service channels that provide a more interactive and complete digital experience. Additionally, we have enhanced the My Bose Account capabilities to deliver a more personalized and self-service experience. As a result, Bose has made the decision to close Community Forum for Consumer electronics products on September 30th. The Bose Pro portion of the Community will still operate as usual.

Please visit our support homepage to experience one of our many other digital service channels or simply use your Community log-in credentials to sign in to your My Bose Account to view your orders and view support options.

Thank you to all who have contributed and benefited from interacting in our Community. We look forward to continuing to serve you online.

In that case it might be easier to update it manually: https://www.bose.com/en_us/support/article/updating-your-soundbar-500.html

Re: Soundbar 500 crackle in right rear speaker after 4.0.8 firmware update

Are folks confirming that this firmware update this week has corrected the crackling sound coming from Soundbar 500/700?  I have a a 700 that is only 5 or 6 weeks old that started doing this a few weeks ago and I was about to return it today.

It's looks like it has fixed it, noone has mentioned that is hasn't. From the messages previous it looks like only a few didn't get the update initially but did eventually.

So I'd make sure yours get's updated before boxing it all back up again to return.

Fingers crossed but confident the 4.0.9 has fixed it 🙂 it has for me and a number of others at least!

Cheers

Re: Soundbar 500 crackle in right rear speaker after 4.0.8 firmware update

I have bose soundbar 500 running running firmware 7.0.11 and since couple of months I have crackling issue and even the latest firmware didn't fix it. both left and right surround speakers are crackling constantly. it's connecting to TV via Optical cable. issue exists also when using AirPlay.
