500 speaker

My Display isn't working and it will not reset or play unless I play through the my bose app

Ive tried plugging in after 30 second wait and also aux - volume for 10 seconds and nothing happens. Also no voice command for Alexa

Thank you for posting and welcome to the Bose Community. Sorry to read about this strange streaming issue you are experiencing. 

 

Let's try and perform a manual update to the speaker by following these steps here.

 

If the same issue persists after the update, I would recommend that we factory reset the speaker by following these steps below: 

  • Remove the product from your Bose account. 
  • Simultaneously press and hold the Volume - and AUX buttons for 10 seconds to reset the product.

To remove the speaker from your Bose account simply open the Bose Music app > Account Settings > Manage products > Edit > Select the Home Speaker 500 > Delete.
