If the same issue persists after the update, I would recommend that we factory reset the speaker by following these steps below:
Remove the product from your Bose account.
Simultaneously press and hold the Volume - and AUX buttons for 10 seconds to reset the product.
To remove the speaker from your Bose account simply open the Bose Music app > Account Settings > Manage products > Edit > Select the Home Speaker 500 > Delete.
