Amazon Alexa function with DS Audio Audiostation Synology Server not working Home Speaker 500

We have our Amazon Alexa connected to our DS Audio App from Synology Server. Using the Alexa speaker, this function works fine 'Alexa, ask Audiostation to play X' and Alexa finds the song through the DS Audio/Audio Station function on the Synology NAS. 

 

Now we have the Homespeaker 500 working, Alexa installed and performing most functions, but the Audiostation function does not work correctly. It initially connects and finds the track or playlist, but after playing around 1 second of music, then stops altogether. 


So far the only way around is by playing the song through DS Audio app on iPhone and then connecting via Airplay to speaker, but this is not ideal as always requires phone. 

 

Any advice?

Thank you for posting and welcome to the community!

 

Not all functions of Alexa are available with the Home Speaker 500 at this time, and DS Audio from Synology is not a service that is officially supported at this time. The fact you are able to get some audio from the speaker could indicate that it might be possible to set up but it is not guaranteed to work.

 

When you ask it play and the audio comes through briefly, what do the light bar and display on the speaker show at this point? 

 

Also, if you were to have the Bose Music app open when you do this, what does the app show when the music starts then stops?
